Dorel Juvenile Group USA Introduces the Safety 1st In-Reach Child Tracking System Provides Freedom for Children, Peace of Mind for Parents
CANTON, MA (May 12, 2005) - Dorel Juvenile Group USA, an operating subsidiary of Dorel Industries Inc. (TSX: DII.SV, DII.MV; NASDAQ: DIIB), will soon unveil its new, easy-to-use child tracking system. The In-Reach Child Tracking System from Safety 1st helps parents maintain awareness of their child’s proximity and alerts them if their child goes too far. Parents can now enjoy the feeling of having an extra set of eyes on their child at the mall, the park or in their own backyard.
The Safety 1st In-Reach Child Tracking System utilizes wireless ChildAlert® technology, developed by Remote Play, Inc. in Princeton, NJ, to keep parents in touch with their child whether they’re 10 or 300 feet away. Using it is simple: The Child Unit attaches to a tamper-resistant belt worn around the child’s waist. The parent clips the other unit to their purse, stroller or clothing. An adjustable boundary setting on the Parent Unit lets parents choose a distance boundary that’s right for their child. If the child crosses that pre-set boundary, the In-Reach Child Tracking System sounds an alert. For reassurance, the Parent Unit also includes a distance display screen that shows the child’s proximity to the parent.
This advanced digitally coded system is designed to enhance parents’ peace of mind. For a dependable connection in loud settings like busy shopping malls and crowded parks, a convenient vibration alert is offered. In addition, an innovative Triple Alert System notifies parents if their child goes too far, if the Child Unit is detached from the child or if the panic button on the Child Unit is pressed. To maintain a secure watch over the whole family, additional Child Units can be purchased for tracking up to three children at once!
Vinnie D’Alleva, Vice President of Marketing for Dorel Juvenile Group USA, says that the Safety 1st In-Reach Child Tracking System is uniquely designed to meet the everyday needs of today’s active parent. "Parents who are always on the go will appreciate its lightweight, portable design and its parent-friendly features like the adjustable boundary setting, a tracking range of up to 300 feet and the ability to add extra child units. They’ll also enjoy peace of mind like never before knowing that In-Reach has their child covered."
The Safety 1st In-Reach Child Tracking System will be available in August, 2005 at Babies R Us for $119.99. To learn more about Dorel Juvenile Group USA and its complete line of dependable child monitoring solutions, please visit www.djgusa.com.
